COMPETITION: Coolest Skyrim Character Screenshot

Monday, 30 January 2012

Lets hold a little Skyrim competition, which gives you a chance to present us your Skyrim character and best screenshot of him. Be creative, it doesn't have to be close up, it can be far shot presenting beautiful landscape, sunset or such, as long as your character is to be seen clearly in picture also. This competition is held by Gamers Dungeon (www.thegamersdungeon.com) -- if you're reading this article at somewhere else, I advice you to visit our page instead to take part. The competition will end 20.02.2012, unless less than ten partakers, which will extend period to take part to the competition untill 29.02.2012, when it will then end no matter how many sent their screenshot. I'm gifting some used Xbox and Pc games to winner and second place.

*** Competition has ended inconclusively - unfortunately none wanted to take a part since I did not receive any e-mails from partakers. Perhaps the next time with better prizes / bigger reader base. However if you still wish to share your character, you can e-mail me and if we get more than a few characters with bio, I may release them as a post later on. ***

I'm gifting some of these games to place 1st and 2nd, see details at the end of the post

This is what you need to do to qualify for competition. Provide us the following:

  • One quality screenshot of your character. Don't send more. However try to keep size less than 2Mb to assure it gets through with the e-mail.
  • Short bio description of your character
    • Who he/she is (race, level, how you role-play your character, what are your main skills to focus, evil or good)?
    • What your character loves (for example Nord ladies)?
    • What your character hates (for example chicken)?
  • Your contact info
    • Alias (to be presented when winners are published, doesn't have to be real name)
    • Name, address, country, contact e-mail and any other necessary contact information in case you win, so I can mail your your prize. (your name won't be published in winners-blog-post unless it's the same as your alias)
  • Your choice of three games out of the "prize list" if you win (Max. two Xbox 360 games, read more below and see "the list"), this speeds up process to sort prizes for winners.
  • Send all this to dungeoncall@gmail.com and remember, the screenshot counts most -- but we'd very much like to hear about your character a bit also!

Competition rules:

  • Use only your own personal screenshots, using someone else's images from internet is prohibited and will lead to disqualification
  • Competition ends in three weeks, at 20.02.2012 23:59:00 GMT +2 (Mid European time +2 hours).
    • If there's less than ten partakers at the above mentioned day, then we will run extra round and end the competition at 29.02.2012 23:59:00 GMT +2 -- no matter how many sent their screenshot
  • 1st Place Winner gets to pick three games out of the "prize list" in additional rules of:
    • Maximum two Xbox 360 games, no other restrictions.
  • 2nd Place Winner gets to pick three games out of the remaining games of "prize list", after 1st Place Winner has picked three games of his choice first, in additional rules of:
    • Maximum two Xbox 360 games, no other restrictions.
  • By taking part in Gamers Dungeon competition, you give rights to use your Character's image in our Skyrim posts (we will be publishing the best screenshots in a blog post when competition ends, as well do we announce prize winners). However we are not using your personal contact information to any other purpose than mailing you your prize if you win.
  • We don't use your real name when we announce winner, we use your alias, if your alias is same than the real name, it's the only case we do.
  • Stay in touch after competition ends, I will be sending winners e-mail when competition is over to your provided "contact e-mail", if you don't respond within a week, then I may grant the prize to the next position winner.
  • I take no responsibility of any prizes getting damaged or lost in the mail, but I truly hope everything gets through normally
  • Also notice that prizes are to be posted from Finland, so reaching the States for example will take time, and I will play any costs regarding mailing.

Prize list of the three games of your choice, remember, 1st Place picks first, 2nd Place picks of the remaining. Maximum two Xbox 360 games per winner. These games are used, thus some of them will have scratches and most don't have manuals. However I'm positive that every each should work fine. For older Pc games, use DosBox.

Win three games of your choice:

Xbox 360 Games (max two):
  • Burnout Paradise (some scratches)
  • Modern Warfare 2 (very good quality, has original key)
  • Midnight Clud Los Angeles (almost unused)
  • Street Fighter IV (almost unused)

PC Games (no restriction, but max 3 all together):
  • Battlefield 2 (DVD, has manual with original key)
  • Battlezone II (jewelcase, slight scratches, good, no manual or box)
  • Need For Speed: Underground 2 (CD1 very good, CD 2 good-, has manual with original key)
  • Terra Nova (jewelcase, very good-, manual, no box)
  • Total Annihilation : Kingdoms (jewelcase, very good, has original key, no manual or box)
  • Z (jewelcase, pretty much scratches, poor, but works, no manual or box)

Let's see how this turns out, hopefully we get some competitors so I can mail you my prize gifts.

New gaming systems and media are bound to break?

Sunday, 29 January 2012

It's been quite annoying day -- my bit over three years old Xbox 360 Dvd-Rom drive showed signs of wearing out this winter, but today it finally didn't want to read Skyrim Dvd other than very rarely. I went into youtube and pre-checked how to open up the Xbox. In addition to this I found out my most blog articles being stolen and published as such by gaming.tizzytips.info. Filed complaints and got on with my Xbox issue. So I opened up the Xbox and cleaned Dvd-Drive laser, then put pieces back together. Now it doesn't read anything, damnit, just makes two sounds at the beginning sounding like a frog and asking for a Dvd when it's in the drive.

This made me wonder, are modern consoles crap in terms of durability? Three years old Xbox 360 is actually quite "ok" without problems before this, but it still isn't that well done. My brother also had Xbox which got "red ring of death" before it was even one year old, luckily it went for warranty which is rare since all systems tend to break right after two years (or so) warranty has wore off. Is it just coincidence that his Xbox broke within year and mine in about three? I've done some reading and breaking Xbox Dvd-Drive seems to be quite common, many have had it broken way earlier than three years. That's quite stunning. On the other hand my bro now owns Playstation 3, which has been without technical problems for few years, that's something. I think I might go for Playstation when next gen consoles hit the stores.

This is not an issue only with consoles, but also with computers. Especially Harddisks and Dvd-Drives tend to break fast. My average lifetime for HD Drive has been around 3-4 years, and around 3 for Dvd Drive. That's short time for an average in my opinion. It's not only the drives, but the media itself too. Cd-Roms, although durability-wise step back from old game cartridges, could still take loads of scratches in them and still work in most drives. They just got scratched rather easily. Then Dvd-rom hit the markets, and in my experience is more than twice as much sensitive to scratches than Cd-Rom. Now we have Blu-ray, I don't even wanna know. Keeping your media in good condition has became quite important, yet when you do, your drive is bound to break down. I've to mention that some Graphics cards are rather durable though, my old good Ati X800 series took years of quite hard overclocking without any extra cooling and would still be working if I didn't buy new computer.

You know what is still up and running without problems? My old good Nes and few of the cartridges I've bought lately since I sold my old ones way back. They are all from late 80's. Same applies for Snes console and games. Twenty years old and still working, that's absolutely awesome comparing to the crap that tends to have lifetime of average three years and break down just after warranty has ended. One thing I need to give Xbox 360 credit though is the great controllers, the buttons are quite durable. Sure Nes controller can take loads of more hits, but the buttons tend to wear out perhaps slightly faster (they still last quite fine too). What do you think?

Factory Sealed/Mint NES and SNES games at Amazon.com - Chapter two - Zelda and Metroid

Friday, 27 January 2012

The second chapter will consist Zelda and Metroid franchise games on Snes and Nes consoles in sealed or mint condition from Amazon.com. Games with no sealed/mint conditioned copy for sale currently are left off the list.

See Also:

So you want to buy Nintendo 8-bit or Super Nintendo 16-bit games factory sealed, either or mint condition (Check if there's factory sealed NES console or factory sealed SNES console available)? Perhaps you're just curious about the prices? Let's bring some Amazon.com items on a table to drool at. They are quite pricy especially if sealed -- which means you most likely want one just in collection purposes and have the game as non-sealed already. Sealed up games are worth a lot. Other than that you could just enjoy a mint quality game, which isn't sealed anymore but has all the manuals and box in good condition, thus also making it worth quite a bit, but also playable. As hint you may always check Ebay for possibly cheaper deals also.

Notifications: Be extra careful if you decide to buy one of the expensive sealed items -- I'd perhaps advice to contact the seller about the item and view his user ratings! In addition be sure to read item's description and find out that the region code matches your concole's region. Most of these games are US versions meaning they are compatible with US consoles. Please view the previous NES and SNES article about the area codes. I take no responsibility of Amazon.com sellers provided information about the game's condition etc.

I'm leaving off any seller with suspiciously low User rating! Non-rated will be accepted but be careful. By clicking seller name you get to view all his current items. Many sellers have several interesting games!

NES:

The Legend Of Zelda (1986) is the one and only original Zelda game. Well actually that's not completely true. Zelda was already presented by one of the Nintendo's released "Game & Watch" games. They were sort of a pocket games, each piece only contained one game -- they were sort of predecessors for Gameboy. I have one of those Zelda Game & Watch games myself.. :) Anyway, The Zelda presented there was actually static platformer and really simple one. The Legend Of Zelda (Nes) was the game that brought the franchise to the point we all know the series from, with top-down view, an adventure game with rpg elements and open world. Some actually call this rpg and some doesn't, it's a matter where you draw the line. It was also one of the earlier Nes games to be released. The game succesfully hit the markets with huge following and many sequels to come for several console generations up untill today. Three Zeldas for sale as sealed right now, but one seller is so untrustworthy we're going to leave him off.

  • $185.00 "In original box. Game in plastic with Nintendo sleeve. All books. Excellent Condition." -KLumpkin (No seller rating yet).
  • $549.00 "Brand New, Factory sealed with Horizontal seam! This game is from the first, original gold cartridge release in 1987! Box is in near mint condition!! Not many around anymore" -abercrombiestud81 (Seller rating 4.9/5.0 out of 19 ratings).

Zelda II: Adventure of The Link (1987) was also quite well received game, but it changed combat sequences into sidescrolling platform action. This didn't please all fans. However the game in it's heart is still very similar to the prequel and can hold it's own ground. Four pieces out there as sealed.

  • $249.95 "FACTORY SEALED! The wrap is torn a bit on the side, but it's been stored in a plastic bag. Also a few corners are a bit worn. Otherwise, an awesomely rare collector's piece! Very clean and even has the original Kay-Bee toys price sticker intact." -Bottomless Pit Of Treasure (Seller rating 4.7/5.0 out of 142 ratings, 93% positive).
  • $269.99 "Brand New in sealed box. Excelent shape. NesClassic Serries." -Happy Dad's Video Games (No seller rating yet).
  • $274.95 "This is brand new sealed in very nice condition and it does have the seam on the back. It is the original classic series version. It comes in a priority mail box for protection." -Projectmario (Seller rating 4.9/5.0 out of 274 ratings, 100% positive).
  • $299.95 "Zelda II NES 'Classic Series version' (Brand New - Vga Graded 85+ Gold Rating) I will bubble wrap the Vga case and mail the game well protected inside a box to ensure it arrives to you quickly and safely." -Level 99 Games (Seller rating 4.9/5.0 out of 49 ratings, 100% positive).

Metroid (1986) is one of the most known, oldest and classic side scrolling platformers from Nes. This game had unique dark sci-fi world to explore and enemies to shoot at. You'd need to discover specific items from the world to unlock your way to the next place, but the game was otherwise free and about discovery of exploration. Player takes place of Samur Aran, whos out to rescue planet Zebes, that is being overran by evil Mother Brain and her evil forces. Nes Metroid also started one well known Nintendo franchise for sequels to come for many newer generation consoler. Four pieces as sealed but one untrusted seller and one unknown, be vary.

  • $293.94 "Brand new, factory sealed with h seam and hanging tab. Has some small rips and minor discoloration." -Fun Times And More (Seller rating 4.6/5.0 out of 366 ratings, 91% positive).
  • $599.99 "Factory sealed video game graded by vga (video game authority), a third party grading service, as a 80. Game comes sealed in a museum quality acrylic case." -Brian's Toys (Seller rating 4.9/5.0 out of 17 777 ratings).
  • $999.91 "Factory sealed with h-seam and hanging tab. There are no tears on the plastic. There are some dents and a little discoloration on the front, other than that it is near mint condition." -zendu2000 (No seller rating yet)

SNES:

The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past (1991) was one and only Super Nintendo Zelda game, and definitely responded into fans hunger more than perfectly. Considered as probably best Snes adventure rpg along Chrono Trigger, and considered as one of the best games ever released by many gamers also. The game once again did bring Zelda series to it's roots with top-down view also in action sequences, only making the game bigger, better and more beautiful looking with 16-bit graphics. Pure classic. Ten available ranging from ~$400 to $1 000:

  • $275.00 "New,still factory sealed, this is the players choice edition, box is near perfect shape..Right front bottom corner slightly-very slightly rounded" -Al's Click And Get Toys (Seller rating 4.9/5.0 out of 148 ratings, 97% positive).
  • $294.00 "Brand new and sealed! Mint condition. Players choice edition" -continental767 (Seller rating 4.5/5.0 out of 19 ratings, 84% positive so be a bit vary).
  • $399.99 "All products shipped brand new / sealed from manufacturer. Brand new condition (not sealed). Expedited processing to ship same day with full insurance!! Ships same day excluding payments received after 3pm(est) and weekends." -O' My Games (Seller rating 4.9/5.0 out of 1153 ratings, 98% positive).
  • $420.00 "Brand new factory sealed with the official v-seam player's choice version mint condition no shelf ware ready for grading i have never seen such a perfect shape game this old i will have it sent in a strong box so you get it safe thanks for looking" -Worldsgamestore (Seller rating 4.8/5.0 out of 406 ratings, 96% positive).
  • $475.24 "Brand New, factory sealed." -Books_Jubilee (Seller rating 4.9/5.0 out of 727 ratings, 99% positive).
  • $500.00 "This is the player's choice version. This is brand new, never opened. (ask seller if this means sealed to be sure)." -SmallBiz Store (Seller rating 5.0/5.0 out of 2 ratings).
  • $650.00 "This is for a Brand New, Unopened, Still Sealed, VGA Silver 75 Copy of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to The Past. I found this a couple of months ago tucked away in some moving boxes and wanted to list it for any collectors. With the advice of some people, I took it in to get it graded by the Video Game Authority here in Roswell, GA, and it came out with a Silver 75, Excellent + Condition, Near Mint Grading. This is an amazing item for any of you collectors out there. It is encased in an Acrylic Case that is UV Protected, so it won't fade, scratch, rip, or anything like that. There is a tear in the wrapping on the back that is shown in the pictures from the manufacturer...no after purchase damage. And it still received such a great rating. This is a great item to buy now...especially with the 25th Anniversary of this particular item coming up in 6 years. This is also the ORIGINAL copy. Not the Player's Choice Copy that was released a few years later. Everything is Original, and ready to be shipped. Please ask me if you have any questions. It comes from a Smoke Free, Pet Free Household, and is already in the Case." -PeterChu (No seller rating yet)
  • $779.95 "The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Snes Brand New (Black label - Vga Graded 85 NM+ Silver Rating) There is a store sticker in the upper right corner of the front cover. *** I will bubble wrap the case and mail the game well protected inside a box to ensure it arrives to you quickly and safely."-Level 99 Games (Seller rating 4.9/5.0 out of 49 ratings, 100% positive).
  • $899.95 "Original, not pc. Brand new factory sealed. Box is in great shape with h-seam. Guaranteed authentic" -AnnieMay (Seller rating 4.9/5.0 out of 659 ratings, 98% positive)
  • $1 000.00 "Super fast shipping! Brand new, never been opened. Still in package from the manufacturer. Nearly perfect condition. Very light wear on plastic wrap. Hardly noticable. Players choice version. Fantastic game. Collector's Item!" -davidmills (Seller rating 4.9/5.0 out of 55 ratings).

Super Metroid (1994) was one of the later era Snes games, and one of the most advanced ones. With 24 Megabyte memory it was largest game ever released for Super Nintendo by size and included memory slot for saved games. It continued where the first Nes Metroid left us, continuing with the veins of it. Gameplay remained very similar to the original sidescroller, but amount of hidden areas and such was increased to reward exploration even better this time. Also new skills/weapons were presented making the arsenal bigger this time. This game is about par as classic as Zelda on Snes and looks totally beautiful graphically for a 16-bit game, and by the way awesome atmosphere and soundtrack. Has more than couple of pieces as sealed:

  • $209.99 "Next business day shipping factory sealed, small tear to seal" -Orlando Shopper (Seller rating 4.9/5.0 out of 506 ratings, 98% positive).
  • $219.99 "Brand new, factory sealed. Still has original K-mart sticker dated 12-1997 and sensor tag. Small tear in the seal on bottom right corner. Also on same end is a minor dent in the cardboard." -chrispanic (Seller rating 4.8/5.0 out of 40 ratings, 95% positive).
  • $299.99 "Item is sealed with vertical seal on back. Item is in great condition! Ships within 48 hours of purchase with 3 to 5 business day delivery." -Just Us Games, Movies And Toys (Seller rating 4.9/5.0 out of 115 ratings, 99% positive).
  • $450.00 "factory sealed great gift price sticker on plastic wrap" -bookmyzer (Seller rating 4.9/5.0 out of 361 ratings, 99% positive).
  • $459.95 "Super metroid (brand new - factory sealed original black label) this game is brand new - factory sealed with the official vertical seam down the back of the box. - a few of the corners are poking through the seal. - there is a light scuff to the seal in the back top left corner. - there is a light crease along the bottom edge of the left side of the box. - overall the game is still in very good to excellent factory sealed condition. *** i will bubble wrap the game and mail it inside a priority mail small flat-rate box to ensure it arrives to you quickly and safely !" -Level 99 Games (Seller rating 4.9/5.0 out of 49 ratings, 100% positive).
  • $999.95 "Super metroid super nintendo (original black label - brand new vga 85) this game is brand new and factory sealed with the official v-seam down the back of the box. - this game was vga graded and received an 85 nm+ silver rating. *** i will bubble wrap the game and mail it well protected inside a box to ensure it arrives to you quickly and safely !" -Level 99 Games (Seller rating 4.9/5.0 out of 49 ratings, 100% positive).

PREVIEW: Jagged Alliance - Back In Action (PC, 2012 Feb)

Thursday, 26 January 2012

Much as I hate to say it, my expectations towards third Jagged Alliance, Jagged Alliance Back In Action, have been quite low ever after seeing first gameplay clips about the game. The game is coming out for PC 10th February 2012, which is only like few weeks apart. It's being developed by a small company called "Coreplay", which is totally unknown for myself. Gameplay video is at the end of this post.

The Story and Gameplay Mechanics

The story takes you back once again in to island of Arulco where a dictator has taken the control of the country. Those fearing big changes to the almost perfect game system of the Jagged Alliance 2 will be in for a shock. Back In Action, although gameplay wise otherwise similar to the prequel, is Real Time strategy instead of what we've used to about with the franchise -- turn based system. This may be turn off for some, and in the first preview clips that came like almost year ago the action looked quite jerky.

Well it may not be all that bad, everything is still controlled by mouse clicks, and the real time gameplay is actually executed the way that you can pause any time to give similar orders, that you would give in turn based combat also. Executing them just takes place in real time when you unpause the game. This system is called "Plan & Go", thus also offering quite tactical way of planning your actions. You can still select the bodypart to hit, but at least the seen version did not offer "set accuracy" option for a shot, though it showed percentage for changes to hit with "a standard shot". Damage is presented by number after each hit. Another new thing is that the game allows you to set waypoints and build whole route of actions and waypoints, when the game is on paused state. If it works like it should, it's still quite tactical despite turn-based system is gone. Enemies do hear and see things, they can alert and run away if they see a grenade thrown next to them. Otherwise AI is big question mark at the present state of time, and will be one of the big factors about if the game's any good or not. One thing I didn't like in the version I saw was that enemies not seen in the screen are presented by red dots in the edge of the screen, if they are off-screen. I'd rather prefer element of surprise rather than knowing whereabouts the enemies are and how many there is on a current map.

Most of the gameplay things we're used to are still there, and other than the above mentioned things, old school fans should pretty much feel home with the system. The world map is still similar divided into sectors to conquer, which also seems to work real time though. The world is consisted of few different areas like desert, jungle, cities, hospitals, SAM sites and military bases. Making money is, like before, about conquering cities with mines, which turn the profits to your hands. By money you can recruit mercs and buy guns. E-mail system from Jagged Alliance 2 is there, and gun merchants will notify you about the new arrivals by e-mail. Up for shopping at old good Bobby Ray's Guns and Things? There are also mercenaries scattered around the world map, as are many worthy lootable items. This should encourage you to check most houses for valuables. You may also find NPC's to discuss with, which may give you additional Quests. One thing that worries me a bit is that the clips never showed your own custom made character, which was one of the fun things to create in Jagged Alliance 2. The feature might be gone?

Character System

The character system seems to be old school. Every each has it's own personal inventory, attributes and stats -- which seem quite the same than before. Even stealth is still existant. You still gather experience points of skills and level up, and so do your stats. The weapons and armors are various and other than from bargaining, you can find them scattered around the world or from hands of dead enemies. Like in prequel of the game, there are various types of guns, armor and explosives from C4 to Grenades (which seem largely handy by the way) -- and guns can jam up as well. There seems to be extra parts which you can add to guns, like scopes. Your mercs can get lethally wounded and die, and the role of a medic is also noticeable. They also seem to have preferences who to work with and how not to, so they might not get along with certain personas. Resting is needed to keep mercs in shape.

(Mercs portions look really bad sadly)

Graphics and Sound

One more thing that is new is the graphical style, which is typically for 2012 set for full 3D. The view however still is top-down. The thing bothers me most about the graphics is that they look bland and boring, and surely are not going to be the main catch of this game. It's not that I would had hoped better graphics engine or anything. Just the general style and objects style wise look bit bland. However there's quite a bit detail in the world nevertheless. It just looks a bit too much of something like Sims 2 or something. Especially character portions in 3D look really crappy. Your current armor is, if you have a helmet and sunglasses or something, also are shown in the portions. Basically if you use same items for everyone they all look alike. Mercs have their own unique spoken dialogue like in Jagged Alliance 2, but fast first look into it didn't really convince as well as in the prequel of the game.

(Graphics are average at best, don't tell me it doesn't look like Sims 2 with guns)

Will it Deliver?

Success of this game pretty much depends of how well RTS combat system with pause & go works, how well does the AI work? How fun is the world to explore and does Back In Action offer challenge all the way up to the end game. So far AI quality is totally unknown while combat actually looks decent. The game is also said to be rather challenging than too easy, which is a good sign at least. Seeing the video below has raised my hopes "from the sewer" to actually "worth a try" level. Few mishaps are there like graphics falling bit on poor side with jerky animations, lack of nostalgic turn-based combat system, possible missing of character creation, average sounds in general and some little things. I get a feeling the game may be quite mixed bag. Nevertheless Back In Action seems to stick to it's roots in more things than I expected though -- although it may have given up one of the frahchises trademarks.

The footage I've seen is from a "press preview" version so bare in mind that some things may still be slightly changed over for a final version of Back In Action.

Factory Sealed/Mint NES and SNES games at Amazon.com - Chapter one - Super Mario related

Thursday, 19 January 2012

The first chapter will consist known Mario franchise games on Snes and Nes consoles in sealed or mint condition from Amazon.com. Most spin-offs are left off as are those with no sealed copy for sale currently.

NES:

Donkey Kong (1983 *NES) is where Mario actually begun, Donkey Kong would later on get it's Donkey Kong Country series going on with Snes and to be brought back to life. Donkey Kong was released as an arcade game first if I don't remember incorrectly. It was also one of the very first Nintendo 8-bit games featuring an early game of a platform genre. It was yet not a sidescrolling game, but had a static screen instead where you could see the whole level in one non-scrolling screen.

Dr.Mario (1990) was a puzzle spin-off from the series and perhaps the most known out of Mario related puzzle games. Four factory sealed games available.

  • $54,99 "Factory sealed. No stickering or writing on plastic. Box is in great shape (not flattened or bent at all)." -Klastor Games (Seller rating 4.9/5.0 out of 47 ratings, 100% positive).
  • $89,99 "Brand new and factory sealed, quick shipping with your full satisfaction guaranteed" -arastash (Seller rating 4.9/5.0 out of 522 ratings, 98% positive)
  • $99,95 "Brand New Factory Sealed! 100% Mint. Box is perfect, no bending, dings, nothing. Shrinkwrap perfect, no stickers/no nothing anywhere. Ships Fast!" -Mind Games Etc (Seller rating 5.0/5.0 out of 72 ratings, 100% positive)
  • $129,99 "New in factory sealed shrink-wrapped plastic. Very rare and hard to find. Don't take a chance on used games that may damage your Nes or new 72 connector pin. Guaranteed as described." -kupihea (No seller rating yet)
  • User cartridges: 115

NES Open Tournament Golf (1991) was a spin-off from the series and hadn't much to do with Mario. It was a golf game and player took place of Mario or Luigi depending of whether you are player 1 or 2, other than that, it was a pure golf game. Four pieces as sealed or mint, check descriptions.

Super Mario Bros (1985) the first and original side scrolling Nes Super Mario, simple and effective game with sharp controls. Classic for decades to come and influence many sequels and franchise spin-off games. Need to say more? Available as original retail and Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt combination with the latter one being cheaper and the first and original quite insanely priced if sealed at the moment. Perhaps better to wait better deal, but however here it is.

Super Mario Bros retail:
  • $999,95 "Brand New Factory Sealed. Box is in great shape with H-Seam. Guaranteed Authentic" - AnnieMay (Seller rating 4.9/5.0 out of 659 ratings, 98% positive)
  • Two others were left off because of bad rating and most likely mirroring Annie's generally bit higher side prices with also $999,00 dollars.
  • Used cartridges: 34

Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt (Two in one):

Super Mario Bros 2 (1986) changed the game mechanics a little with bringing in Princess, Luigi and Toad as playable characters along the Mario, with varying physics. Those used to Super Mario Bros 1 sharp controls may have been a bit off, although generally game still sticks to the origins of the first. I personally think second one is still cool game and has unique feeling in it mainly caused by varying themes from icy surroundings to quicksand desert -- and the new bosses/mini-bosses were nice addition. And those darn flying masks chasing you ever after you pick up a key! Eight games sealed up available and prices are quite high.

Super Mario Bros 3 (1988) and third Super Mario didn't only bring the franchise back to it's roots but also made great additions. Top down map view for each separate lands consisting of regular side-scrolling levels, as well as out of several mini-games, bonus areas and shortcuts (if you had the right tool or item found first) was definitely great addition bringing slight "adventure" element to the game, and increased the feeling of the "World" around you instead of just glued-together levels. This game's controls are just perfection, pure classic stuff! 12 items on sale as sealed or mint. I'll pick the most secure ones and leave the rest.
